To the Editor:—
The first sentence of the article "Use of Reserpine (Serpasil) in the Management of Chronic Alcoholism," by Wells, in The Journal, Feb. 9, page 426, is inaccurate, as reserpine (Serpasil) was never used by Wilkins and Judson (New England J. Med.248:48-53 [Jan. 8] 1953) but Serpina (Himalaya Drug Co. Ltd., Bombay, India), a preparation containing all alkaloids and not only one alkaloid of Rauwolfia serpentina.
