The author of this book needs no introduction to the public and the medical profession because of his broad interests and ability to write. This interest and ability are evident in this new book, which is intended for the public and contains practical information on the significance of disease and some of its problems. It does not attempt to tell the patient how to diagnose and treat himself, but it does contain a wealth of explanatory material which should aid the average member of the public in understanding the influences on health and the significance of disease.
