Hospital Accreditation Program.—  At the close of the 1957 fiscal year, the Air Force has 45 hospitals which are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals—41 within the United States and 4 overseas. During the period of Jan. 1 through June 30, 1957, several of these hospitals underwent a periodic resurvey for an additional three years of accreditation and none of these failed to maintain their accreditation.


New Student Dietitian Program.—  The chief of the Army Medical Specialist Corps has announced a new Army Student Dietitian Program for women students of home economics. Under this program, which will become effective for the 1957 fall school term, students receive over $200 a month through their last year or two years of college education.While completing the requirements for a bachelor's degree under this program, students are enlisted in the Women's Army Corps Reserve.
