Abstract

ILLINOIS 

State Anesthesiologists Meeting.—  The Illinois Society of Anesthesiologists will meet Oct. 5 in the Beaubian Room of the Prudential Building, Chicago. A social hour will be held at 5 p. m., with dinner at 6 p. m. and the program beginning at 7:30 p. m. Dr. Richard Foregger, director, department of anesthesiology, Marquette University School of Medicine, Milwaukee, Wis., will present "The Respiratory Valve." A business meeting will follow.

Appoint Director of Medical Educatio —  Dr. Robert E. Slayton has been appointed director of medical education at St. Luke's Hospital. His duties are to strengthen and direct the educational program for the hospital intern and resident staff. Dr. Slayton previously was associated with St. Luke's as a resident in medicine from 1951 to 1953; he was a fellow in medicine at the Joslin Clinic, Boston, 1953-1954, and later became a lieutenant in the United States Navy.
