Abstract

This monograph is the initial publication in a series of studies on cutaneous manifestations of diseases of the reticuloendothelial system. Accordingly, the principal portion of the text is devoted to the cutaneous manifestations of multiple idiopathic hemorrhagic sarcoma, although other facets of the disease are also discussed. These include etiology, pathology, symptomatology, differential diagnosis, and therapy. The book is well written, in a manner that reflects a great deal of study and a wide experience in the field. The material is presented in a simple and logical sequence. As Dr. Herbert Rattner notes in his introduction, it is not important that the author is unable to ascribe the disease to a single cause, or that his discussion of treatment ends on a depressing note; but the value of the book lies in the fact that all the available facts on Kaposi's sarcoma are here recorded. The volume is well documented
