Abstract

ACKNOWLEDGMENT  The material on the following pages constitutes the 56th Annual Report on Medical Education in the United States and Canada, as compiled by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals. The data have been derived from official sources and concern schools of medicine and other matters pertinent to medical education. Presentation of this information would not be possible without the full cooperation of medical school and university administrative officers, government officials, and many others. The Council on Medical Education and Hospitals wishes to express great appreciation to the many individuals who have cooperated in providing the information on which this current report is based.
