CALIFORNIA 

Competitive Examination for Epidemiologist.—  The Los Angeles County Civil Service Commission has announced an open competitive examination for epidemiologist (M.D. ) to act as advisor and consultant to the Air Pollution Control District, the Board of Supervisors, and all agencies working against smog. Minimum requirements include graduation from an approved medical school and completion of an internship approved by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association; three years' experience in the diagnosis and control of communicable diseases, of which one year must have been in public health work; a California State Physician and Surgeon's Certificate at time of appointment; candidates must not have reached their 68th birthday on date of appointment; they must be citizens of the United States and bona fide residents of the county of Los Angeles by the last day for filing applications.
