This very short book is the result of some painstaking and laborious research into the development of clinical pathology. The chapters are composed of short biographical sketches of the men who were influential in the techniques and phases of clinical pathology as we know them today. While this book deals primarily with the English contribution to the field, it does serve as a useful reference point for those interested in the development of this Cinderella of medicine. There is an interesting final chapter on the organization of the International Society of Clinical Pathologists.
