Reference to the annual parleys of the Old Turks, the Young Turks, and the Young-Young Turks in Atlantic City early in May of each year has been made in two editorials in The Journal (171:2102, 1959 and 172:1772, 1960) in recent months. Two other conferences deserving of editorial comment were firmly launched in conjunction with these assemblies. The Chief Editors of each of the Specialty Journals (ten in number) of the A.M.A. held an all-day conference on May 1 to exchange ideas and to offer suggestions in each of their respective areas of specific interest that might contribute to the betterment of the periodicals in other fields. Three of the Chief Editors of the Specialty Journals were in their first year of assignment. Dr. Warren E. Wheeler, Professor of Pediatrics, University of Ohio, was designated Chief Editor of the A.M.A. Journal of Diseases of Children late last year
