To the Editor:—  In an editorial on Fernel in The Journal, April 23, page 1938, reference is made to "Sir Charles S. Sherrington of Cambridge." Is this about the same as referring to "Walter B. Cannon of Yale"? Sherrington was professor at Oxford, Cannon at Harvard.Singer's "Short History" (1928) speaks of Sherrington of Oxford (p. 309). Fulton's "Selected Readings" (1930) speaks of Sherrington at Oxford (p. 284). Actually, he did much of his work at Liverpool, however; perhaps we should not confine such a distinguished man to any one town.
