THE American Medical Association is sponsoring a Research Forum at its Annual Meeting in New York, June 25-30. More than 200 scientists, representing a cross-section of nearly every medical specialty, will present new and original communications at 6 sessions in the Coliseum on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, June 27, 28, and 29, 1961. AMA officials propose that this new Research Forum, conceived and planned by the AMA Council on Scientific Assembly and sponsored in cooperation with the study sections of the National Institutes of Health, will be held annually as part of the American Medical Association convention.

A committee appointed by the Council under the chairmanship of Dr. Edwin H. Ellison, professor of surgery at Marquette University Medical School, Milwaukee, is responsible for the selection of contributors. Selection is based primarily on quality and timeliness of the author's original investigation. The Research Forum was proposed to fill a need in
