Abstract

NAVY 

New Admiral.—  In ceremonies at the U. S. Naval Hospital, Great Lakes, Ill., on Oct. 6, Rear Adm. Courtney G. Clegg, M.C., Commanding Officer of the U. S. Naval Hospital, delivered to Rear Adm. Paul Webb Greeley his appointment as Rear Admiral, Medical Corps, U. S. Naval Reserve.

Retirement.—  In a special ceremony at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology a certificate of retirement and a letter of appreciation from the Surgeon General, USN, and the Director of the institute was presented to Capt. Theodore R. Austin, M.C. Captain Austin was assigned to the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in March, 1952.

PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE 

New Appointment.—  Dr. Russell B. Roth, a member of the Council on Medical Services of the American Medical Association, was appointed to a 3-year term on the Advisory Committee on the U.S. National Health Survey. The function of the advisory committee is to review
