In the past 20 years there have been 11 volumes of this work under the joint editorship of Drs. Dock and Snapper. The volumes have been planned so that recent outstanding advances in internal medicine are presented by leading authorities in each of the special subjects.
The current volume discusses hepatic coma by G. J. Gabuzda, natural history and therapy of acute glomerulonephritis by D. S. Kushner, viral etiology of leukemia by B. P. Maduros and S. O. Schwartz, control of cholesterol metabolism by B. B. Migicovsky, studies of serum calcium regulation by W. P. Laird Myers, analogues and derivatives of thyroxine by R. W. Rawson, current concepts of diabetic microangiopathy by H. Rifkin et al., and the metabolism of the normal and the failing heart by J. T. Stewart et al.
