This volume completes The Ciba Collection series on the digestive system. It contains 200 full-color illustrations prepared by the renowned medical artist, Dr. Frank H. Netter, with a descriptive text supplied by 20 authorities, a crossreference index, and a bibliography.
While the editor, Dr. Oppenheimer, completed the work on this volume, he unfortunately did not have the satisfaction of seeing it in its final bound form. It is considered appropriate that a few comments be made on his contribution to his other research work, as well as to this publication. In the introduction to this volume, Dr. Netter makes the following comment:
