To the Editor:—
Levine et al (200: 341, 1967) give the impression that tetanus immune globulin (human) remains in short supply. It is indeed true that this product was in short supply until last fall but now full stocks are available in all wholesale drug houses and all prescription and hospital pharmacies. By January 1967 our inventory position was sufficiently long to permit our International Division to solicit foreign orders for bulk tetanus immune globulin (human). With the present state of knwoledge in regard to tetanus hyperimmunization, plasmapheresis, and plasma procurement and plasma fractionation, we could, without undue pressure, supply the United States and Canada with prophylactic doses of tetanus immune globulin (human) equal to the total doses of equine and bovine tetanus antitoxin previously used.
