Twenty-seven patients with inflammatory and infected dermatoses were treated with a dexamethasone sodium phosphate cream or a combination neomycin-dexamethasone sodium phosphate cream. Symmetrical areas were treated with the two preparations for a paired comparison in a double-blind fashion. The clinical responses were equally satisfactory with both preparations. Neomycin was not effective topically in eradicating bacteria from the skin lesions.
