Financial data regarding the operation of basic science departments in 13 foreign medical schools were collected in person in a recent visit to these schools attended by more than 2,000 American students. Special effort has been made to tabulate these data on a comparable basis with the usual organization of basic science departments in US medical schools. However, no attempt has been made to compare the organization of these departments with those in US schools.
