Abstract

To the Editor:—  In The Journal (204:555, 1968) Dr. John Spratt replied to a question from Dr. Walter Schloss regarding the therapy of giant penile condyloma acuminatum. From the correspondence one must assume that the most accepted therapy for the treatment of venereal warts or condyloma acuminatum was not used. This consists of podophyllum in various forms. The mixture I use most frequently is a 25% solution in compound tincture of benzoin. This is applied in the office and repeated in a week or two weeks, depending on the severity of the reaction. If and when this podophyllum therapy fails then electrosurgical procedures should be instituted.
