In the Law and Medicine section for June 3 ("Incomplete Surgery" —advertising page 253), a typographical omission altered the meaning of a statement. The first paragraph under the heading "Failure to Tie and Clip Fallopian Tubes" should have ended as follows: "After the second operation, abscesses formed over the incision, and the patient complained of pain in the left side. A mass or abscess discovered on the left side of the pelvis by another physician was removed in a third operation."
