To the Editor.—
I was appalled after reading the EDITORIAL "Loans Defaulted by Death" (218:1566, 1971). Indeed, I was surprised that you would reveal to physicians that any of the money they had contributed to the AMA-ERF was being used inefficiently.Whenever I have taken out a loan, I have been required to purchase life insurance to cover the loan in the event of death. Why does not the AMA-ERF require all recipients of loan funds to cover their obligations with life insurance?
