The third edition of this text on visual physiology maintains its place as the most authoritative and most concise exposition of the subject in one volume. Once more the mass of new research since the appearance of the previous edition in 1963 fully justifies this third edition. Once more the results of the most rapidly advancing area of research, this time electrophysiology, are responsible for much of the new material.
As with the previous editions, the book will be of value to physicians seeking board certification, psychologists who would like to know some of the bases for their studies, and physiologists who wish a reliable survey of an often neglected portion of their territory. The volume is recommended for all of these and for anyone who requires an up-to-date view of visual physiology.
