AFTER the "Physician's Guide to Wills, Trusts, and Estates" appeared several years ago (JAMA 181:217-241, 1962), it was reprinted in booklet form and made available, on request, from the Office of the General Counsel. Given the persistent demand for this booklet, an insert was subsequently added. The insert advised the reader that
[T]he present edition of the booklet, "Physician's Guide to Wills, Trusts, and Estates," has not been updated for several years. Although the general content is of continuing validity, there are certain specific sections that are presently being revised and updated. Therefore, if the reader has a specific question concerning wills, trusts, or estates, it is strongly recommended that the reader contact his local attorney for advice in this area. No specific question in this area can be definitively answered without the assistance of the reader's own counsel.
