To the Editor.—
I was extremely pleased to see the article by Margaret Deanesly, MD, entitled "Breast Prostheses" (236:499, 1976). The title of the article immediately caught my eye because of our interest in breast reconstruction after radical mastectomy. I was extremely pleased by the information provided by the article; however, I do feel, in light of today's technological advances in breast reconstruction after mastectomy, that articles dealing with breast prostheses should discuss the potential usefulness of internal prostheses as well as external ones. Their use and success have been well documented by multiple authors.1,2
