Abstract

Spermatic cord torsion was surgically treated in a 7-hour-old infant. Intrauterine onset was clearly evident. Palpation of the genitalia by the obstetrician immediately after birth and very prompt surgical intervention as recommended for the older patient is mandatory if salvage rate is to be improved. Perhaps torsion discovered at birth is already past the critical time for salvage!
