Rapid Method for Tzanck Preparations

JAMA. 1977;237(11):1119-1120. doi:10.1001/jama.1977.03270380063022
Abstract

Use of the Paragon Multiple Stain for Frozen Sections (PMS) for Tzanck preparations of herpetic lesions has several distinct advantages over procedures previously described; the method is rapid, simple, inexpensive, and results in hematoxylin-eosin-like staining. This enables a diagnosis to be made from a single, affected cell.
