These comments are, indeed, refreshing, since they are intended to draw attention to the need for improved focusing of certain definitions. Unfortunately, burgeoning subjects of complex areas of medical research, such as HLA and disease associations, are becoming replete with terms that are applied increasingly, but not necessarily, commensurate with the appropriate, strict logic. Critical surveillance and constructive criticism by readers and writers alike perhaps will lead to the necessary adjustments.
