Thalassemia and Gouty Arthritis

Abstract

The appearance of gouty arthritis in thalassemia is very rare. Thalassemia associated with gouty arthritis occurred in two Negroes. The unusual findings include long survival, thalassemia syndrome in the Negro race, and appearance of tophaceous gout in one patient.
