In the June 27 issue of The Journal (237:2866, 1977), the SELECTED ABSTRACT "Simple Method for Diagnosing Protein-Losing Enteropathies" incorrectly reported that control without gastrointestinal disease had ≤12.1 mg α1-antitrypsin per gram dry weight feces. The correct value should have been ≤2.1 mg/g (as compared with 9 to 19 mg/g in multiple random samples from two children with known protein-losing enteropathies).
