To the Editor.—  I was interested to learn that green urine is produced by indigo carmine, methylene blue, and phenol (1981;246:216). Readers may be interested in some other causes of green urine. Green urine, as well as green stools and green fur on the tongue, has been reported in iodochlorhydroxyquin-induced subacute myelo-optico-neuropathy.1Pseudomonas bacteremia, bile pigments in the urine, ingestion of amitriptyline hydrochloride or methocarbamol, and abuse of breath freshener (Cloret) tablets have also been associated with greening of the urine.2
