Abstract

The complexity of coronary artery disease and its prevalence in our affluent society have stimulated experts in diverse disciplines to contribute a vast amount of new knowledge during the past decade. Dr Peter F. Cohn and the other contributors to Diagnosis and Therapy of Coronary Artery Disease have undertaken a most ambitious task in organizing and assimilating the many new developments in the field. Chapter after chapter, the reviewer is impressed by the comprehensiveness and lucidity of the coverage of this common—and perhaps the most important—cardiovascular disorder.

In their discussion of this rapidly evolving subject, Dr Cohn and his contributors have made a special effort to present findings and opinions of other investigators and cardiologists on various aspects of the disease. But, at the same time, they do not hesitate to provide their own best opinion on a given issue based on their extensive clinical and research experiences.
