THE 26th annual listing of continuing medical education (CME) courses for physicians in the United States appears in this issue. Information is provided regarding the American Medical Association Physician's Recognition Award (PRA) and the AMA-State Medical Association program for the accreditation of providers of continuing medical education. Also included is the AMA list of institutions and organizations accredited for CME.
This issue of The Journal is prepared by the AMA to assist physicians in utilizing CME courses that will help them maintain the knowledge and skills used in carrying out their practice responsibilities.
CME COURSE LIST Purpose of the List
The policy of the AMA on CME, as adopted by the House of Delegates in July 1979, is to encourage physicians to participate voluntarily in CME.
