This comprehensive text edited by Melvin H. Jahss represents a major effort to provide an authoritative reference for disorders of the foot. The scope of the undertaking far surpasses previous efforts along these lines, and the finished product will prove to be a valuable reference source not only to the orthopedic surgeon, but to the general practitioner or anyone involved with care of the foot and ankle.
An impressive collection of contributing authors has been assembled and provides authority to the book. Understandably, as with any such undertaking, there are some shortcomings to this work. The most obvious weaknesses are in the organization, thoroughness of the discussion, and completeness of the bibliography from chapter to chapter.
