This 602-page book constitutes the formal content of the Sixth Western Hemisphere Nutrition Congress, held in August 1980, and includes the W. O. Atwater Memorial Lecture, presented by Dr Ancel Keys. Divided into ten sections, beyond the contents of the opening (plenary) session, it covers a wide range of nutrition-related problems and prospects and touches on the disagreements on "national nutrition policies" that have been accorded considerable attention in the print and electronic media.
