An error occurred in the editorial entitled "The Long Shadow of Flexner: A Prolonged Polemic in Assessing Outcomes in Medical Education," published in the August 25 Medical Education issue (1989;262:1008-1010). On page 1009, the second sentence in the last complete paragraph in column 2 should have read as follows: "Accrediting agencies [not 'Accrediting agencies of the AMA'], such as the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, and Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation, could compile and share information, and perhaps join efforts in a comprehensive program of research on these issues." Also in that issue, in Appendix I on page 1079, two incorrect committee members were listed. For the Council on Medical Education, "Hugh E. Stephenson, Jr, MD, Missouri" should have been listed instead of "Jay K. Harness, MD, Michigan." For the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education,
