Incorrect Information

Abstract

Errors occurred in the obituary for Edward L. Buescher, MD, published in the July 14 issue of The Journal (1989;262:222). The obituary for Dr Buescher contained factual errors. On page 222, column 2, the second paragraph and the first two sentences of the third paragraph should have read as follows:

"Dr Buescher graduated from the University of Dayton (Ohio) in 1945. He earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati (Ohio) College of Medicine in February 1948. His parents provided for his medical education. In August 1948 Dr Buescher enlisted in the Army Medical Corps under the Intern/Residency Training Program. He interned at Cincinnati General Hospital. The following year he trained in virus research at the Children's Hospital Research Foundation, Cincinnati, under Dr Albert B. Sabin.

Dr Buescher was called to active military duty in 1950 during the Korean Conflict and was sent to the virus department at Walter
