Dr Kutner suggested the possibility of a study to be performed under usual rather than optimal clinical conditions. Since under ideal conditions the nonophthalmologists missed 50% of treatable eye disease, there is every reason to believe that under usual clinical conditions, the missed diagnosis rate would increase even more.We appreciate Dr Fier's comments.
