An erroneous statement was made in the COUNCIL REPORT "Health Effects of Agent Orange and Dioxin Contaminants," published in the Oct 15 issue of The Journal (1982;248:1895-1897). The authors wish to add the following correction: "There is presently no conclusive evidence that carcinogenicity is induced by picloram at the particular doses and length of time that the test animals (ie, B6C3F1 mice and male Osborne-Mendel rats) were treated. The effect on the female Osborne-Mendel rat suggests that picloram could induce benign liver tumors."
