Abstract

When originally published in 1975, Radiology of Syndromes covered 540 syndromes, including metabolic disorders and skeletal dysplasias. The second edition, in 1983, was entitled Radiology of Syndromes and Metabolic Disorders, and included about 700 subjects. This new third edition has an expanded title, Radiology of Syndromes, Metabolic Disorders, and Skeletal Dysplasias, and an expanded text that covers nearly 1000 entities. This is a book by radiologists that is written primarily for radiologists.

Part I (Syndromes) and Part II (Metabolic Disorders) are written by Dr Taybi, who has been collecting material about these disorders for the past 35 years. The information is extremely well organized. Each of the three parts is arranged in alphabetical order. The format used in most cases is that of a brief discussion of synonyms, mode of inheritance, frequency, clinical manifestations, radiological manifestations, and differential diagnosis. Descriptions vary from a few sentences to one or two pages.
