Dr Welford has succeeded in designing a workhorse program for the medical office. It was written by a practicing internist for his personal use and is primarily intended for use by physicians, residents, and medical students. It is not just another word processing program.
Dr Welford's Chart Notes is an extensively integrated clinical information management program that includes such features as a drug interaction knowledge base, an ICDM code book, and a database manager for patient allergies, medications, and diagnoses. It also has an artificial intelligence that reads each note as it is being entered, automatically updates the patient's lists of allergies, medications, and diagnoses, and will simultaneously check for drug reactions or interactions and proper dosages whenever the physician starts or stops a patient's medication.
