To the Editor.—  I am writing to question the increasing use (IU) of capital letters to abbreviate phrases that repeat in articles for physicians (CLAPTRAP).How important is the space that can be saved by using CLAPTRAP? Have you ever surveyed your readers to determine whether they find this IU of CLAPTRAP stupefying, annoying, and distracting (SAD) or otherwise detrimental to the enjoyment of your fine journal?I, for one, find the IU of CLAP-TRAP to be a very SAD development.
