Swine are afflicted with gastric ulcers which resemble those found in man. Because of the similarities, we believe that swine can provide a useful model (both research and teaching) for studying peptic ulcers of the stomach in man. Several factors may play a part in the etiology of these ulcers in swine, and some of these have parallels in ulcer disease in humans.
