To the Editor.—
Apropos of Abraham Verghese's1 delightful recollections entitled "The Dreams of a Medical Resident" and his reference therein to "dreams where one feels like one is working" ("sleep work"), I wonder if readers are familiar with the story of the getting-on-in-years professor who recounts: "I dreamed I was lecturing in front of my class. I woke up with a start, and by Jove, I was!"
