In Reply.—  I heartily agree with Dr Linzer's suggestion that setting the ground rules for an education experience such as attending rounds is well worth the effort. Linzer's favorable experience with "contracting" is supported by two recent publications1,2 highlighting the importance of the early interactions between student and teacher in clinical medical education.
