Abstract

Current Therapy in Allergy and Immunology 1983-1984 is a guide for the physician treating patients with diagnosed diseases having allergic or immunologic bases. Also included are diseases of probable immunologic origin such as multiple sclerosis. This book is part of a series of "current therapy" books for which periodic updates are planned.

The editors explain in the preface that their aim is to provide a concise and thorough guideline to the treatment of allergic and immunologic disorders. Because of the rapid changes in this field, notable differences of opinion concerning treatment regimens, and the chronic and recurrent nature of many of these diseases that make interpretation of therapeutic studies difficult, summaries of the literature can be confusing. References have therefore been purposely omitted. Instead, 91 widely recognized clinical investigators, active in the study and treatment of the diseases concerned, have been chosen to discuss the approaches they themselves take in
