There have been at least four recent films dealing with the young urban professional's examination of whether there is something behind the immediately apparent and external form of the world as we see it. Unfortunately, this quest is marred in all four explorations by two classic defects: the idea that this is an original or new quest and the failure to deal with the quest in terms of seeking to find a solution (or even implying that there could be one).
The first film in the current series was City Slickers, which many suggested was only a variant of the midlife crisis theme.
