Abstract

—In the Commentary entitled "Participation of HIVInfected Patients in Autologous Blood Programs," published in the June 9, 1993, issue of THE JOURNAL (1993;269:2892-2894), a line of text was omitted. On page 2893, the last sentence in the first column should read as follows: "If the transfusion of allogeneic leukocytes activates HIV replication, as the studies of Busch et al suggest, then avoiding exposure to allogeneic white blood cells by transfusion whenever possible and providing autologous blood instead of allogeneic blood when feasible represent good clinical management."
