College Appointments.

Abstract

—Owing to the continued ill-health of Professor J. S. Jewell, who has filled the Chair of Mental and Nervous Diseases in the medical department of the Northwestern University, better known as the Chicago Medical College, for many years, he has been appointed Emeritus Professor of Psychological Medicine, and Prof. Walter Hay has been transferred from the Chair of Materia Medica and Therapeutics to that of Mental and Nervous Diseases and of Medical Jurisprudence. During the long period that Professor Jewell has been connected with the college in the capicity of an active teacher, he has filled the positions assigned him with an ability and enthusiasm rarely equaled. And it is hoped that one or two years rest from such labor will enable him again to give the college the the benefit of active service.
