—Dr. William A. Byrd, of Quincy, Ill., died on August 14, 1887, at Slater, Mo., to which place he had gone for a visit to his father. He is reported to have been attacked with sunstroke on the 13th, and survived only about eighteen hours. He was 44 years of age, and one of the most active and well known surgeon's in that section of the State.
