The book before us is well printed and bound, and of convenient size. We have, however, been disappointed at the brevity of the description of the physiological action of many drugs, even of very important ones. This work must be looked upon rather as a brief handbook than as an exhaustive treatise. It certainly cannot replace H. C. Wood's well-known text-book. It is written in a pleasing, readable style, and so arranged that reference can be readily made to any subject.
