Abstract

A meeting of more than local importance was held at Chicago on Saturday, April 11. State health officers of Indiana. Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan, as well as representatives of over twenty cities and villages which border on Lake Michigan and which obtain their water supply from it, discussed the problem of maintaining the purity of this great body of fresh water. A permanent organization, embracing the health authorities of the four states which border on the lake and the cities which use it, was formed, to be known as the Lake Michigan Sanitary Association. Interstate cooperation fcr this purpose is most commendable.
